Our School Vision, Ethos and Christian Values

Our School Vision, Ethos and Christian Values

Our Vision Statement:

'Learning through faith, we dream, believe and achieve!'

As a Church of England school, we are extremely proud of our Christian heritage. Our values and ethos are based on the Bible and underpin everything we do here at Trinity. However, we are a fully inclusive school where all faiths and families with no confirmed faith are welcomed and respected. We are deeply committed to creating a school where all cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds and orientations are loved and accepted. Our aim is to ensure everyone feels included and can contribute to our vibrant, rich and diverse school community.

Our strong foundation is a catalyst to allow our pupils the creativity and freedom to have high aspirations for their lives and to dream big. Through our character education we give our pupils the confidence and resilience to believe that anything is possible and the wisdom, knowledge and skills they develop will ensure that they achieve the best possible outcomes for themselves, their communities and the wider world.

Our school is a member of the Diocese of Exeter. We are wholly committed to the education and welfare of the children in our care and have identified what makes our school distinctive. Our church school’s success is based on strong and welcoming links between school, home, church and community. Our vision statement of 'Learning through faith, we dream, believe and achieve' is rooted in the story of Paul having strength through Christ to live out his values and enable the local and global communities he was part of to flourish. This is captured in Paul’s letter to the Philippians: “I can do all things through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4 v13).

Promises and Values

Our Promises and Values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy and responsible members of our school and the wider community.

Our Values in Action

We want our Christian school values to make a real impact on the children and families at Trinity. Every half term the Ethos team meet and think carefully and prayerfully about how our values can be lived out in a meaningful way. We use the three principles behind the Trinity to help us with this.

  • The first part is through the Father and how God's word in the bible can teach us to understand each value and its true meaning.
  • The second is through the Son and how Jesus lived out these values so that they made a difference towards his friends and family and community.
  • And finally the Holy Spirit, teaches us how to use this wisdom, knowledge and skill to go out into the world and make a positive difference.
